Welcome
Rouge28 Theatre produces works that engage a dialogue between different forms of puppetry and performing arts such as drama, mask, dance and storytelling. Our work is highly visual and takes its inspiration from literature, cinema and animation.
Past performances include The Story of the Panda Bears by Matei Visniec which received critical acclaim at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Heartsnatcher adapted from the eponymous novel by Boris Vian, Madame inspired by Jean Genet’s play The Maids and Postalgia, a psychogenic journey into the realm of oppression.
Urashima Taro is the latest project developed by the company. It has re- ceived support for its creation from Art Council England, the Sasakawa Foundation, UK-Japan 150, the Puppet Centre Trust and Central School of Speech and Drama.
The company was created in 2005. Its work has since been performed at Edinburgh Fringe Fes- tival, Shunt Lounge, The Little Angel Theatre, Camden's People Theatre, Buxton Puppet Fes- tival, The White Bear and The Boo in Lancashire.
